Abstract:
This focused 4-hour workshop explores the pivotal role of the maxillary central incisors in smile design and their influence on overall dental esthetics. Led by experienced prosthodontics, the session includes both theoretical principles and live demonstration of central incisor preparation techniques. Participants will gain clinical insight into morphology, tooth proportions, and preparation strategies for achieving optimal esthetic and functional outcomes.
Introduction:
The maxillary central incisors are central not only anatomically but also esthetically, often considered the foundation of a harmonious and pleasing smile. As the most visible teeth in the smile zone, their shape, position, and proportion significantly influence facial balance, perceived age, and personality traits. In prosthodontic practice, the restoration of teeth demands both artistic precision and technical expertise.
This workshop is designed for dental professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of smile design principles with a central incisor-centric approach. Through evidence-based lectures and expert-led demonstration, the session will cover facial and dental esthetic parameters, ideal incisal edge positioning, and detailed preparation techniques including depth orientation, reduction guides, and finish line considerations.
Participants will leave equipped with actionable knowledge and skills to diagnose, plan and execute central incisor restorations that blend seamlessly with the natural dentition, enhancing both function and esthetics. Whether for veneers, crowns, of full-mouth rehabilitation, the central incisor demands a refined prosthodontic approach-and this session delivers exactly that.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand the esthetic and functional significance of maxillary central incisor in smile design.
- To identify ideal morphological and positional characteristics of central incisors for harmonious facial and dental esthetics.
- To master the step-by-step clinical protocol for conservative and accurate preparation of central incisor for restorations.
- To evaluate common challenges and prosthetic solution in rehabilitating central incisors for long-term success.
